DANGER LURKS in Israel and the Middle East!

Dear friends and readers,

Peace and grace to each of you in Jesus name!

By this time it should be no surprise to you that a shooting war is breaking out between Israel and the terrorist organization HAMAS who is ruling the Gaza strip. I specifically said a "shooting war" because now BOTH sides are doing so. In reality Israel has been shot at from the Gaza terrorists for months on end and has used tremendous restraint until this past week.

This situation is potentially far worse than many people expect. The entire region has erupted over the past few months in continual civil insurrection and regime change. Now the king of Jordan is threatened from within his own country. Egypt's new leadership is violating it's long standing peace accords with Israel and siding with Hamas. Lebanon is armed to the teeth (through Hezbollah) with rockets capable of striking major Israeli cities. Iran is orchestrating Israel's demise while seeking nuclear capability. And I could on on and on!

This break out of hostilities is a growing---minute by minute---threat  that could easily spill over into ALL surrounding Middle East nations and engulf the entire region in a massive war unparalleled in recent history.

As I was pondering how this article would proceed, I received a news letter from another ministry THE JERUSALEM CONNECTION. They had in turn printed a report from a writer currently in Israel who's ministry is THE CLEFT IN THE ROCK MINISTRIES.

Frankly I could not have done a better job, both in relating the issues and listing needed prayer requests involving Israel. Please join me in reading this excellent report by KATHLEEN D. MITCHELL.

Shalom and please pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6),
Pastor Rance

Emergency insight for intercessors
By KATHLEEN D. MITCHELL, IN THE CLEFT OF THE ROCK MINISTRIES–
It appears that the first steps toward a “full-on” war have now been taken here in Israel.  Will the military operations be confined to the conflict with Gaza and the Palestinians, or will it expand to include Egypt, Hizbullah in Lebanon, and even Syria? In the next hours and days, we may have the answer to that question.  But before I give you the details of these serious developments, let me tell you something, from the past three days that will amaze you.
On Monday, I took a trip with friends to the Galilee and the Golan Heights to check out the borders of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.  Standing nearly alone on the top of Mt. Bental, overlooking the Syrian border, which stretched out in front of me, (with Jordan to my right and Lebanon to the left), I heard the sound of a loud boom break the silence. Almost immediately after this blast, a second, but louder explosion was heard.  Soon we were informed that Syrian forces had sent a rocket flying over the Israeli border (the 6th such “accident”). The strike was reported to be an error in the attempt of Assad’s forces to make a hit on the opposition forces in Syria.  How stupid do they think we are?  Someone is trying to bait us into a war.  Israel sent over a warning shot after ignoring the first few “accidents”.  Finally Israel hit back with the intention of making contact with the individuals, who sent the rocket.  The UN was notified by Israel of the Syrian violation of Israeli sovereignty. What are the odds that I just happened to be on that mountain (which was momentarily devoid of its usual masses of visitors) at that moment, singing praises to YHWH, and releasing the Shema Israel over the Land?
Then again, yesterday, on a trip in the South, I had a very supernatural experience.  With three other people in the car, I saw a pillar of white cloud that arose over Ein Bokek (a community situated near the southern end of the Dead Sea).  I first saw this odd column of white as we approached Masada from the north.  My comments, regarding what I was seeing, caused the attention of my friends to be directed toward this strange column of cloud. They all saw it too.  It truly was a huge, white, straight, column of cloud that arose from the ground and arose straight up, high into the sky. My discernment was that this was something VERY significant. Actually, it was hard for me to take my eyes off of this phenomenon. Finally, today in the early evening, I received a phone call from a friend on the southern, Mediterranean coast of Israel.  She reported that Israel had just announced a military engagement with Gaza that was being called: Operation AMUD ANAN defense (PILLAR OF CLOUD defense).  I nearly jumped out of my skin.  That is not a coincidence!  It is a message from YHVH … but it was not the only one given today. The employer of my friend, her son, and many others all saw three, white, number 8’s standing together in the coastal sky today, as if these three numbers were created to give a message.  Those three number 8’s hovering in the sky were not manmade and yet, they were a confirmed, visual reality to the natural eye. Number 8 in Hebrew speaks of “NEW BEGINNINGS”. Number 3 or three of anything speaks of completion.  Put three number 8”s in the sky at the same time, and you get a message that declares the time of a complete new beginning.  What is God saying in this as it relates today?  I suspect it is bigger than any of us can imagine.  Blessedly, YHVH is in the center of all that is coming down in Israel today.
Details of the crisis:
**Today at about 4 PM, the IAF made a brilliant, pinpoint, accurate, hit on the number one, most wanted terrorist in Israel: Hamas commander, Ahmed Jabari. There was no civilian collateral damage, due to the amazing skill of the Israelis.   Not only was this wicked terrorist killed today, but so also were his deputy and his son.  Much Jewish blood was on the hands of this terror leader. He was the mastermind behind the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit and behind the prisoner release that freed him.  As soon as Jabari’s death was announced, the Palestinians went crazy; declaring actions, intentions, and threats of revenge.
**Rockets began flying out of Gaza immediately. Ten rockets in twenty minutes landed in the Eshkol region. No one was killed, but when one of the rockets hit a power pole, the residents in the area lost power. In total, 55 rockets have been fired into Israel between sundown and midnight.
**Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gan Yavne, and Beersheva have all been on the receiving end of these attacks.  Blessedly, the Iron Dome defense system took down 17 of these rockets.  There have been no deaths or serious injuries from these attacks; although many citizens have been treated for anxiety and shock.
**School has been cancelled tomorrow for all communities in the south.
**Residents are told to stay in their sealed rooms or bomb shelters in some areas, while most are being told to be within a 15 second sprint to their secure shelter.
**A rocket was fired toward Dimona, the site of Israel’s nuclear power plant.
**Hamas leaders have vowed that this targeted killing of their leader will bring HELL into Israeli cities.  Suicide bombers have been called into action; requiring Israeli communities to be on high alert in all public areas, buses, trains, malls, bus central stations, etc.  This alert will be in effect for many days to come.
**Israel is currently moving divisions of soldiers into the Gaza area– preparing them to move into Gaza after the IAF makes a safe path for them by eliminating many booby traps, ammunition supplies, military leaders, and tunnels. Reserve troops have begun to be called up, as approved this evening by the cabinet.
**As a result of this increasing aggression, Egypt has recalled its ambassador from Israel, and has increased the presence of its armored vehicles along its border with Israel and Gaza. Egyptian President Morsi demanded that the ambassador to Egypt from Israel appear before him earlier this evening, and now that diplomat and his staff have left the country.
**The Israeli Air Force has made at least 20 successful attacks against weapons storehouses and long-range missile depots in Gaza.  Tunnels and terror personnel are being hit as well. Not surprisingly, the long range missiles that have the capability of reaching Tel Aviv, were “launch ready”, and situated in civilian residential areas. Israel carefully documented and video recorded the evidence of their locations, and the resulting destruction from the IAF hits that took out these threats.
**Even the Israeli navy is making some strikes from the sea.
**After Israel has endured thousands of rockets out of Gaza over many years, the increase in attacks over the past couple of weeks has brought this situation to a boiling point.  Prior to the attack response, Bibi Netanyahu called all the international ambassadors to Ashkelon on Monday, and showed them the evidence, announcing to them that this aggression by the Palestinians had gone too far.  Israel has the right to protect her own at the time of her choosing.
**PM Netanyahu addressed the nation tonight saying:  “Hamas and the other terror organizations chose to escalate its attacks in recent days.  Israel has sent Hamas a clear message that it is prepared to defend its citizens. Hamas is purposely shooting at civilians, and hides behind its own civilians. We avoid striking civilians. Israel is sending an unequivocal message that Israeli citizens will not be hostage to terrorist missile fire and cross-border attacks. Our enemies seek to wipe us off the face of the earth.”  This is not a peace partner. Blessedly, this man of God, who is leading the nation, is saying that we refuse to go the way of perpetual restraint and victimhood that the nations have required of us. We will not go where our enemies are demanding that we go, which is to death and destruction. We will take hold of our destiny and fight to retain it with the help of God.
** The chief negotiator of the PLO, Saeb Erekat, has shouted to the world that the PA holds Israel completely responsible for the “brutal aggression” the Jews have made against the Gaza Strip. “The occupation has committed a grave crime and crossed all red lines!”
**Another voice of revenge, Hamas spokesman Barhoum, declared: “This is a real declaration of war. The enemy will pay a heavy price for its crime and will regret the moment it thought of perpetrating it.”
So here we sit tonight. War is breaking out, even as YHVH is speaking to His people in supernatural ways; suggesting that He is with us.
Please act as a Watchman on the wall, intercede and PRAY:
–Break the power of Barhoum’s words!  Israel is not committing a crime, nor will Israel pay a high price for defending her people and her inheritance from YHVH. Pray that YHVH would make our enemies pay His price for their bitter hatred, murder, lies, violence, and theft.
–Pray against all kidnapping of Israeli soldiers and citizens.
–Pray that Hizbullah in the north (Lebanon) will not enter into this fight (unless it is YHVH, who brings that nation in).  For the past 30 days, chemical weapons that have been stored in Syria (from Saddam Hussein’s stockpiles) have been moving west into the hands of Hizbullah.  PRAY THAT NONE OF THESE CHEMICAL OR BIO WEAPONS IS USED AGAINST ISRAEL. DESTROY THEM, LORD!  Cause them to backfire upon those preparing them for use against Israel.
–Pray that Assad in Syria doesn’t turn his weapons against Israel in an effort to save his own neck, or to acquire the Golan Heights as his prize. Pray for our northern borders to be protected by YHVH.
–Pray that Egypt doesn’t get into this war (unless it is YHVH, who is drawing Egypt in to fulfill Isaiah 19).  Pray for YHVH’s protection to be upon our southern border.
–Pray that Iran or Jordan will not get into this war (unless it is YHVH, who would draw them into a war to meet with Him).
–Pray for revelation and revival in every nation of our enemies, before the hand of YHVH strikes them with His anger and judgment.  Mercy, Lord!  Preserve the innocent and answer the cries of the seekers of truth.
–Pray that YHVH would prepare our warriors tonight—body, soul, and spirit.  Reveal Yourself, Lord! Give skill.  Give peace!  Give revelation of divine destiny!  Give courage! Give divine protection! Give faith!  Give vision!  Give accuracy in intelligence!  Give every provision necessary!
–Pray for perfect communication, trust and cooperation between all branches of the Israeli military, navy, Air Force. Etc.
–Pray for Bibi to be surrounded with spiritually in-tuned men and women, to support and to encourage him. Pray for him to be re-elected in January, as the result of the success YHVH gives to him in this campaign. Praise the Lord that Bibi is not motivated by campaign gains, by manipulation, and by any political benefit, as he engages righteously and obediently with our enemies.
–Cause the citizens of this nation to come together in unity to battle for life and truth. Cause the foreigners, who have their own interests at heart to be removed from the Land at this time or make them silenced in their ability to influence any outcomes.
–Pray for Bibi to hear YHVH’s voice and to follow it explicitly.  Be filled with the Holy Spirit afresh, Bibi! Be deaf to the voice of the nations, and our enemies, but be clear and obedient to the voice of YHVH.
–Cover Bibi’s vulnerabilities, his wife and two sons, his daughter and grandchildren.  Keep them all safe and healthy, even as YHVH secures and sustains Bibi.  Bring wisdom to Bibi and understanding to his family members.
–Pray for all those, who have been under rocket fire all evening and into the night.  Pray for Sderot, Ashkelon, Nahal Oz, Ashdod, all of the Eshkol region, Beersheva, and all the villages, kibbutzim, moshavim, etc.   Protect and strengthen them!!!
–Decree, declare, and forbid ANY suicide bombers from having ANY SUCCESS and from penetrating any of Israel’s cities, airport, and military outposts. Etc. Decree that there will be NO GLORY GIVEN TO ALLAH BY THE SHEDDING OF JEWISH BLOOD!  HUMILIATE ISLAM TOTALLY, LORD! SHOW YOURSELF TO BE SOVEREIGN AND LORD!
–Pray for the families of the soldiers serving and of those being called up from the reserves.  Pray for wives, children, parents, siblings, fiancĂ©es and significant others.  Pray for them to be comforted and courageous.  May the peace of the Lord fill their hearts with peace, faith and courage.
–Ordain victories for Jacob, Lord!  Glean glory for Yourself, Lord!  Pray for YHVH to pour down living water upon all unholy fires so that they do not spread. Shut down or change the left wing media, which perpetually serves up the pig slop of Humanism, weakness, doubt, and division to feed the hearts and minds of the nation. Feed the people Yourself, Lord!
–Pray that the nations will either support Israel in this battle or that they will stand back and be silent, so that she can fight as the Lord dictates.
–Pray that Israel will know when to go into Gaza and then not leave until this mess with Hamas is finished.
–Pray for every hidden/stored missile, rocket, launcher, and armament in Gaza (or in any other Arab/Islamic location) to be discovered and destroyed by Israel or crushed by YHVH personally.  Every tunnel be exploded.  Every civilian site or mosque used for launching rockets, for weapon construction, or for sanctuary for wanted terrorists be exposed and destroyed.  Spare the innocent, Lord–those who might be used as human shields–but expose the betrayers, the chameleons, and the liars.
–Pray that at the end of the day, the illusion and lies of a viable, legal, Palestinian state will be finished and gone.
–Have Your way, Lord!  Sanctify Your holy name in the resolution of this conflict, Lord! Glorify yourself through the conduct of Your people.

War or no war, THAT is the question?

Dear friends and readers,

Peace and grace to you in Jesus name!

Since my last article, our family has suffered two deaths of loved ones, moved our household to an entirely new location, moved several staff members households, and traveled extensively. That does not include 5 funerals (two of them babies---the worst for any pastor), a wedding and other ministry responsibilities. And, the list goes on and on.

During my cyber space absence, I have been gratified to see that many new folks have logged on to my various articles and that our readership has grown to 83 countries on this site alone. Also we are thankful that there has been great interest in both www.backtolifebasics.blogspot.com and www.israelscovenant.blogspot.com

Thank you one and all for your patience and loyalty.

LET THERE BE A DRUM ROLE PLEASE!!! I'm back! By the way, the drum role is not for your sake but for mine. I have lots and lots to say and now FINALLY perhaps I can resume getting it said.

What I want to touch on today is the pending great---perhaps immediate, possibility of war in the Middle East.

First however, For those of you who are new to my writing style, please allow me to fill you in; First, I never ever use any of my blogs to push my own political agenda. Second, I have studied the Bible and Biblical prophecy for a great portion of my adult life---and no I am not going to tell you how long that is but here is a hint! While not being personally privy to the Exodus of  Israel from Egypt under the leadership of Moses, I most certainly did witness the rebirth of Israel in May of 1948. And no, I was not a baby at the time.

So, the long and short of it is that I have been around for awhile. Seen it and heard it. Been there and done that.

All that to say that I think my read on what may happen in the near future is as good a guess as anyone's. "Whoa" you might be thinking, "did I read that correctly??? Did he actually just say he is GUESSING"?

Well, more correctly put, my vast storehouse of knowledge relevant to both Biblical prophecy in relation to current events---tempered with lots of study is, well yes---well informed guess work about what may or may not happen in the next few weeks.

The only difference between myself and many another writer is that I have the temerity and audacity to admit it! Ok, Ok, before anyone writes me a nasty gram and tells me that "temerity and audacity" mean virtually the same thing---I KNOW THAT! But, I just thought that putting them together in the same sentence had a nice ring to it. Call it literary license if you like, but it does represent a truth about EVERYONE who writes about Biblical prophecy.

The truth? No matter who we are! No matter how many letters of the alphabet we have after our last names, no matter how many years in the ministry, no matter how well read and studied we are. No matter how many articles we have published or awards earned-------NO ONE alive on this earth today can think with the mind of God!

The Word of God (which by the by, I take as being literal), explains to us that God tells His Holy Prophets before He does things. Also Jesus Christ who is the Son of God---and the ONLY MESSIAH of this world, clearly stated that we should be able to discern "THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES"!

So, can we have another drum role please? Who among you cannot clearly see that this old world is in big, big trouble right now---and getting worse? BY THE DAY! Come on now, a moment of honesty please. Is your wife worried for her children's tomorrow? Are you concerned about how you are going to feed your family? Do you wake up with the cold sweats worrying about your investments or whether you will have a job tomorrow or even lose your house? Is your country experiencing military dictatorship, drought, famine, natural disasters, crooked politicians?

If not, you are among the blessed few no matter where in the world you may be reading this article from.

So, before we talk about pending war, just one more tidbit of information about "yours truly".

Unlike some of my contemporaries, I do not search the local news daily, looking for something that I can conveniently fit into the puzzle of Biblical prophecy. Rather, I look at long range trends of world events with the occasional exception of some colossal event like the monumentally fulfilled prophecy of Israel.  This Nation crawled out of the ash heap of history to once again become a Nation on May 14, 1948, AFTER nearly 2000 years of non existence! Of course the Jewish people were always scattered around the world as a people group but one would have to be deaf, dumb and blind (or not reading his or her Bible) not to recognize that spectacular event as having been orchestrated by the hand of God!

Over the years, Israel's very existence has been challenged more times than I can count. She has been conquered, raped, pillaged and sent into captivity. Israel has been utterly destroyed. Jerusalem (the City of Peace), over its lifetime that exceeds 3000 years, has been attacked over 50 times, besieged at least 23 times, and destroyed twice.

It is the ONLY---did you hear that? THE ONLY Nation that has been utterly and completely destroyed---ever in the history of the world--- that once again became a Nation, including ALL of the following;

Israel has the same name as in Ancient times. Same people group as in ancient times, Same name for it's money as in ancient times, Same name for many of it's cities as in ancient times! SAME LANGUAGE as in ancient times. Well, ok so now they have new words in their vocabulary for helicopter, Uzi, nuclear weapons (which of course they do not have---heh,heh, heh!)

And once again they are being threatened with total and complete extinction. And that threat, by virtually every single country that touches their boarders (some exceptions but those are fewer by the day).

One would think that after resounding victories by Israel in the wars of 1948, 1967 and 1973---plus lot's of major skirmishes, that her surrounding enemy countries would get a clue! They are not going to beat Israel.

The reason for this is because the God of eternity, the God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, calls Israel "THE APPLE OF HIS EYE". He has chosen the Jewish people as His own special people and no matter how much the fringe element of Christianity (the replacement theology folks) try to deny it, God loves Israel and always will.

Do you remember the old song that says, "don't spit in the wind or step on Superman's cape"? Pretty silly to do either, don't you think? You may as well add to that list, picking a fight, IN ANY FORM,  with Israel.

Well, my friends picking a fight with Israel is the same as sticking your finger up God's nose! It wasn't a good idea for King Nebuchadnezzar, it wasn't a good idea for the Roman Caesar, It wasn't a good idea for the ancient Philistines, it wasn't a good idea for Adolf Hitler, it wasn't a good idea for Evil Haman of the ancient Persian Empire and it is NOT A GOOD IDEA for modern day Iran (which is still ancient Persia).

I purchased a t-shirt on one of my treks to Israel that graphically tells the entire story; On the back of the shirt is a score sheet of sorts and here is what it says:

NATION                                                  STATUS

Ancient Egypt                                           GONE

Philistine Empire                                       GONE

Assyrian Empire                                        GONE

Babylonian Empire                                    GONE

Persian Empire                                           GONE

Greek Empire                                             GONE

Roman Empire                                           GONE

Byzantine Empire                                       GONE

Crusaders                                                    GONE

Spanish Empire                                           GONE

Nazi Germany                                             GONE

Soviet Union                                               GONE

Iran                                               ??? What do you think?

And what do every one of these old dynasties have in common? They either tried to annihilate Israel or the Jewish people.

And now, once again we have ancient Persia (in the form of modern day Iran) making the same humongous mistake. Trying in vane to do something that cannot be done. Why? based upon pure hatred and religious fervor!

I mean no offense to the millions upon millions of Iranian citizens who I am certain do not want another war. But as far as the leadership of Iran is concerned, a simple history lesson should tell them that to try and pick on Israel is to pick on God Himself.

That my friends is called being "stuck of stupid"!

I will tell you that the United States had better watch it's step where Israel is concerned! The current leadership is showing ever increasing signs of becoming an enemy of Israel even though a huge portion of the U.S. population clearly stands in support of Israel. The Bible tells us that in "the end times" the entire world will become Israel's enemy and will suffer accordingly at the hand of God Himself.

So, do I think that there is a very real and threatening possibility that war is on the immediate horizon in the Middle East? Is this prophesied by the Bible? Yes, I think it is. When exactly will this take place? I don't know but I do think that it may be very very close.

There is a war prophesied in Psalm 83. When we take a look at the nations mentioned, they can all be  traced forward through the centuries to current nations surrounding Israel or in the immediate geographical proximity today. Clearly these nations and organizations will once again come against God's people. And this is what is said of these nations:

"---O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountain on fire, so pursue them with your tempest, and frighten them with your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name O Lord, let them be confounded and dismayed forever; yes, let them be put to shame and perish---"!

So, this could be the fate of any attacking armies surrounding Israel today. But, that still leaves unanswered, the fate of Iran itself since there is considerable land mass between the two countries. In another area of scripture Iran (Persia) is specifically mentioned (in league with other nations) as attacking Israel and being wiped out to 1/5 of  their populations. (note---the 1/5 portion is listed in the original king James version of the Bible). This war which I believe is still yet future is listed in Ezekiel chapters 38-39. Good reading for those of you who are interested. But I do not think this is the war that we may be looking at very soon.

So what IS the real scoop? Well frankly, this is where educated guess work comes in. No one knows for certain until it happens---if it happens at all.

However, the facts cannot be denied. The United States has always "had Israel's back", but, todays political climate is very different and clearly the U.S. President and the Israeli Prime Minister are not friends.  There is great enmity between them.  Interestingly enough,  there may be only one modern nation today who's leadership stands solidly behind Israel and that nation is Canada, who unfortunately does not have the firepower to really back up Israel in a massive regional war.

With Iran DAILY threatening Israel with total extinction, coupled with a highly suspected drive to develop it's own nuclear weapons, Israel is feeling extremely isolated and in danger of another holocaust. As a result we hear on nearly every evening news program, speculation about whether Israel will launch a preemptive strike against Iran. If that happens, Iran would most certainly respond. BUT, several of the nations surrounding Israel today (many of those listed in Psalm 83) are proxy terrorist puppet nations for Iran. Iran arms them and trains their terrorist factions. So if such an attack becomes a reality and Israel "pulls the trigger" it could easily drag most of the Middle East countries into a very ugly confrontation.

Yes, I know, speculation at best. But is it, really? Right now, in my opinion, may be the first time in modern history that an Israeli Prime Minister actually has a sitting U.S. President over a very large barrel. The U.S. Presidential elections are mere weeks away. The current President has demonstrated time and again that he prefers the company of the Muslim nations over that of Israel. He is not a friend to Israel and they know it.

Historically, American Jews vote Democratic and will probably do so in support the current U.S. President in the upcoming elections;  unless of course, they feel that Israel is in danger!  The President also has some following in the Christian community and even among some Evangelical voters who by and large are great supporters of Israel.

Then of course there is a huge centrist voting block who are neither Democrats or Republicans. Many of these people also solidly support Israel and may not make up their minds about who to vote for in the next election until they walk into the voting booth.

The Prime Minister of Israel, whether you are a fan or not, is undeniably an extremely astute politician who understands exactly what is happening and what the chances are of success for a preemptive strike against Iran. He also understands the ramifications for Israel depending upon who the next U.S. President may be.

In that knowledge lies the "crux of the biscuit" so to speak.  That is the huge political barrel that the Prime Minister understands that his nemesis, the U.S. President is now firmly over.

If The Prime Minister launches a preemptive attack against Iran before---and anywhere close to the U.S. Presidential election, then the current President will be faced with an unenviable choice. If he leaves Israel to her own devices---in other words does not come in militarily and help Israel, he can kiss his chances for reelection good by. Why? Because he will immediately lose any (and probably all) Evangelical Christian voters, a huge portion of the American Jewish voters and (I believe) most of the centrist undecided voters as well.

This is a very close election and the current President cannot afford to cast aside ANY voters if he has any hope whatsoever of staying in office another 4 years.

On the other hand, IF the current President decides to back Israel militarily, he may lose a huge portion of the left wing vote of the Democratic party base.  Either way,  for him this is a lose--lose situation. Don't think for a moment that Israel's leadership team are not fully aware of this. Also don't forget that the Israeli political system is somewhat different. The Israeli Prime Minister can make the decision to launch an attack or even an all out war----ON HIS OWN! He may lose the next election for it but he has the ability to do so.

The only real question is, does he currently posses the political muscle in his own country to call the shot?

So, I have a question for you to think about?

If you were the Israeli Prime Minister and you were facing daily REGIONAL threats that your entire nation and all it's people could be wiped out by religious extremists who are working hard on developing nuclear capabilities; AND, you could clearly see that you have a once in a lifetime advantage in setting this threatening nation back several years through a preemptive strike; and, you knew you had the most powerful man in the world over a political barrel--------???

Or, it could all simply come and go as just another Middle East hiccup.

Well, you decide,

God bless you all,
Pastor Rance.
P.S. Don't you just hate the "doomer and gloomers"? I do. It is always bad news. But on the other hand, if this war should break out---no matter when that might be, what do you think will happen to the price of crude oil? Or the stock markets of the world? Or the worlds investment and banking houses? Or the immense cost to multiple nations for another war of this magnitude? Or to your sons and daughters who will be called upon to fight that war?

OR, perhaps it is simply best to just throw Israel to the wolves! ??? NOT ME!

Walking the Ancient Paths

Dear Readers,

Blessings to you in name of the Lord!  Today is the day we have been working towards for the past few months, and we are happy to share that our upcoming tour to the land of Israel set for this coming November, 2012.  We invite you to join us as we experience this amazing Land that God calls His own. (Leviticus 25:23)

Walking the ancient paths of Israel, is a dream of many people all over the world. Scripture tells us that the new city of Jerusalem will be our eternal home.

Imagine yourself praying on the exact paving stones that Jesus tread in the Old City of Jerusalem next to the Temple Mount. Worship the Lord on a fishing boat in the midst of the Sea of Galilee and meditate on the the hill where the Lord gave His "Sermon on the Mount". Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit at the waterfalls of En Gedi and gaze up at the caves where King David wrote many of the Psalms? The view from Masada overlooking the Dead Sea in memory of the Jewish defenders last stand against the Roman legions in 70 AD is both breathtaking and sobering. Imagine yourself being baptized in the Jordan River, walking the streets of ancient Tiberias, viewing Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and taking communion at the Garden Tomb!

We have designed this tour with emphasis on the historical, Biblical, tragedies and victories of the only nation in the history of the world that has been resurrected in fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.
We personally invite you to join us for this and much more during our latest upcoming tour of the Land of the Bible in November 2012. Truly, this is a trip that will change your life, and heart, forever.

Why is tonight different from all other nights?

Blessings to you all in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach, (Jesus the Messiah). As we enter into this Holy season of Passover and Resurrection Sunday, there is connection between the two holidays that should "connect the dots" for those truly seeking Truth. I remember the first Passover Seder (a Seder is a diner that recounts the Exodus story) that Rance and I attended, about 15 years ago. We were astounded by the Biblical truths that were overlooked for many years, never having been taught the connection in church. Ever since then, our hearts have burned within us regarding Biblical Truths and fulfilled and to be fulfilled Bible prophecy in the "Jewish Holidays", or as we prefer to call them, "God's appointed times". Just this morning I received the following email from Messianic Bible Project. (A wonderful ministry worthy of support) How they explained it was so perfect that I wanted to share it with you, in the hopes that you will be ministered to in the Truth of the Word of God. Shalom, Happy Passover, and blessings upon you on "HE IS RISEN DAY!" Brandy Cook

Shalom Friends,

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are
healed.” (Isaiah 53: 5)
Tonight, the Biblical Festival of Passover (Pesach) begins, coinciding
this year with Good Friday.
On Sunday, as Passover continues, Believers will celebrate the resurrection of
Yeshua on Easter.

Friday at sunset, the eight-day celebration of Passover begins.
Jewish people will mark the beginning of this prophetic holiday,
which foreshadows the salvation wrought for all mankind
by Yeshua
, with a ceremonial meal called the Seder, in which
the story of deliverance from slavery in Egypt is retold.
Around the world, as the Jewish People commemorate their exodus from slavery in
Egypt, and celebrate the saving power of the God of Israel, Believers in Yeshua
(Jesus)—both Jewish and Gentile—will celebrate freedom from slavery to sin.
This freedom, the salvation of Israel and all mankind, was accomplished through
the death, burial and resurrection of the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), as the
sacrificial Passover Lamb.
“Messiah was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will
appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are
waiting for Him.” (Hebrews 9:8)

Though Yeshua endured an agonizing death to atone for the sin of the world,
He rose again on the third day. Because He was completely sinless, death
could not hold Him. Had He not borne our sins, He wouldn't have died at all.
In fulfillment of Scripture, Yeshua became our guilt offering, paying the price
for sin once and for all.
“…though the Lord makes His life a guilt offering, He will see His offspring
and prolong His days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in His hand.”
(Isaiah 53:10)
While the guilt offerings on the altar of the Temple could only cover sin,
Yeshua’s death and resurrection actually removed sin for all time.
As Yochanan (John) said when he saw Yeshua coming to him at the Jordan River,
“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.” (John 1:29)
The Passover Lamb: When being Passed Over is a Miracle
“Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast—as you
really are. For Messiah, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” (1 Corinthians 5:7)
Passover is rich in lessons for all Believers in Yeshua.
Were you ever passed over as a child when the sports team was being chosen?
For a child, being passed over could be devastating. Likewise, as adults,
being passed over for a promotion, raise, or a prestigious role can be very frustrating.
But being “passed over” during the first Passover was a miracle of deliverance.
During the very first Passover in Egypt, so that God’s judgment of Egypt would
pass over, the children of Israel were required to choose an unblemished lamb,
kill it, and place its blood over the doorposts and lintels of their dwelling places.

The Signs on the Door, by James Tissot
Today, 3500 years later, we are able to celebrate the Passover in all of its’
prophetic fulfillment.
We have the opportunity to place the blood of the perfect, chosen Lamb of God,
Yeshua, over the hearts and homes, so that by faith, we too will be spared from
the Divine judgment due to fall on this world. This too is a miracle of deliverance.
“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are; and
when I see the blood, I will pass over you [pasachti], and there shall no
plague be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 12:13)
In Hebrew, the word for I will pass over is pasachti וּפָסַ×—ְתִּ×™, which comes
from the word pesach, which means to hop, to skip over or spare, and to pass over.

The Angel of Death and the First Passover
Brandy, our salvation was wrought at such a great price.
The Messiah died in our place and paid the price for the sins that we
committed.
And despite celebrating the Passover year after year, so many Jewish
people do not know Yeshua!

Jewish men and women flock to the Western (Wailing) Wall on Pesach (Passover).
Yeshua is Prepared for Burial
“Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus [Yeshua]. …
With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away.” (John 19: 38)
On Good Friday, Christians remember the horrific death that Yeshua suffered on
our behalf.
Believers also read how Joseph (Yosef) of Arimathea and Nicodemus
(Nakdimon) came to Pilate to ask for Yeshua’s body.
Because Jewish burial customarily takes place within 24 hours, in keeping with
Jewish practice, they sought to bury Yeshua right away.
They also prepared Yeshua’s body for burial with tahara, ritual purification.
In this ritual, the body is cleansed, and then dried and dressed in takhrikhim,
a simple white shroud
(Mark 15:46-47).
“Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.
Taking Yeshua’s body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of
linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs.” (John 19: 39–40)

Although Yosef and Nakdimon carefully prepared
Yeshua's body for burial, when the women came to
the tomb after High Shabbat had ended, it was
empty and the burial linen was left to the side.
Yeshua had already risen from the dead.
When Yosef and Nakdimon performed the mitzvah of preparing Yeshua’s body
for burial, they were performing the duties of the
Khevra Kadisha—an
organization that ensures the body is correctly prepared for burial and
protected from desecration.
By wrapping Yeshua in linen, they were practicing the custom of takhrikhim,
providing the proper burial garment for the deceased.
Since the Sabbath was quickly approaching, there was insufficient time to
complete the preparations before the holy day of the Passover began; therefore,
Yeshua was placed in a sealed tomb until the close of the High Sabbath day.
Thus, Yeshua was buried in a rich man’s tomb in fulfillment of the Messianic
prophecy in Isaiah 53:
“He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death,
though He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.” (Isaiah 53:9)
However, more important than how Yeshua was buried is that He rose from the
dead and gained victory over death. Hallelujah!

Both spiritual and physical death has been defeated through Yeshua’s victory,
as Saul of Tarsus (Paul) said:
“But Messiah has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits [bikkurim]
of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man [Adam],
the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die,
so in Messiah all will be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:20–22)
This is the ‘Good News’ that we want to share with all Jewish people, so that
they can be sure of their place in the olam habah’ (the world to come).

Please help us reach the Jewish People, such as these ultra-Orthodox
Jewish men in Israel, with the Good News of Yeshua.
If Death is the Result of Sin, How could Yeshua die Sinless?
Since Yeshua’s death, burial and resurrection occurred in a Hebraic context,
examining Jewish customs surrounding death, burial, mourning and resurrection
can further our understanding of Good Friday and Easter.
Originally, God did not create mankind to suffer death.
The first book of the Torah, Bereshit (Genesis), reveals death as the judgment
of God upon mankind for their spiritual fall in the Garden of Eden.
After Adam and Chava (Eve) failed their test of obedience, God said:
“By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the
ground [adamah], since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you
will return.” (Genesis 3:19)

When Adam and Eve sinned, all of mankind came under the curse of the
broken law. Yeshua redeemed us from that curse.
The name Adam was taken from the word for ground or earthadamah, since
the man (Adam) was taken from the ground (adamah).
This Hebrew word play reveals a spiritual truth: sin has brought physical death
to all of mankind and with it, a return to the
earth (adamah).
Thus ends a person’s physical existence on earth, with the soul separating from
the body.
Yeshua’s death, however, was not due to His own sin, since He was sinless. He
died when He took upon Himself the sins of the world.
“But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him
is no sin.” (1 John 3:5)

The gospels of Mark, Matthew and John report that Yeshua was handed over
to the Roman soldiers, who clothed Him in a ragged scarlet cloak, jammed a
crown of thorns on His head, and mocked Him saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
Resurrection: a Jewish Belief
Traditionally, the rabbis believe that every Jew will be resurrected and
experience spiritual life.
As is written in Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), “The dust returns to the ground it
came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:7)
Chapter 11 of the Book of Hebrews describes the great men and women of faith.
Some women received their dead back to life again, while “others were tortured
and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection.”
(Hebrews 11:35)
The Tanakh (Old Testament) also describes a resurrection from the dead
and subsequent judgment.
The Hebrew prophet Daniel gives an account of what will happen in the last days:
“Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting
life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
(Daniel 12:2)

The empty tomb
Kria: The Jewish custom of Rending the Garments
Then Jacob tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and mourned for his son many
days.” (Genesis 37:34)
In Judaism, there are seven immediate family members who are expected to
observe a seven-day mourning period: the father, mother, daughter, son,
brother, sister, and spouse.
These seven mourners participate in a special tradition.
To symbolize how death rips the fabric of life, their garments are symbolically
ripped just before the funeral.
In this tradition called kria, the parents and children rend the garment on
their left, closest to the heart. Spouses and siblings tear their garments on
the right.
While this may seem like an odd tradition, it dates back to Biblical times
(Genesis 37:34).
In fact, at the moment of Yeshua’s death, the Heavenly Father also seemed to
observed kria
in His grief over the death of His son of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
“At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
The earth shook and the rocks split.” (Matthew 27:51)

Thankfully, Yeshua’s death wasn’t the final word.
Just as He promised, death couldn’t hold Him (John 2:18–22; Matthew 26:31–32).
“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our
justification.” (Romans 4:25)
The sting of death is sin (1 Corinthians 15:56), and in Yeshua, death has lost
its sting!
Therefore, we can live confidently without any fear of death or dying, as we
know that when we pass from this life, our lives continue eternally with our
loving Father in Heaven.
Your gifts will make a difference for eternity.
